Heart-touching real story
I came across this real story on one of my friends blog. Read it, feel it and let it hurt enough to do something about it:http://sriharshagrama.blogspot.com/2008/03/heart-touching-story.html
Of movies & barcode
Watching a movie with friends is a last minute contingency plan to enjoy a weekend and it works most of the times. On a certain lazy weekend afternoon, we decided to go for a movie. Rushing through the bustling Hyderabad traffic, we made it to the theatre just in time. As soon as the availability of the ticket was confirmed, the person behind the counter asked my friend to stand right in front of the ticket counter. A tad confused, my friend followed the instructions given to him; only to realize later that the ticket was having his photo printed on it. The photo was taken via a webcam and thereby the instructions. The movie ticket was bar coded and the bar code is scanned upon entering the movie hall thereby registering your entry into the movie hall. It is an extremely efficient way of keeping track of people and also an interesting use of technology in a theatre.
Air - The Apple element
Nobody launches their product the way Apple does. Speculation, curiosity, teasers, rumours and publicity are some of the characteristic traits that one would associate with the launch of an Apple product. Apple has done it again; iPod, iPhone, Leopard and now Air.Apple yet again manages to showcase its design supremacy and prowess with Air. Sexy, sleek and attractive – this beauty has got all the right curves.Targeted at the Ultra-portable notebook segment, it is bound to raise eyebrows and has got the looks to kill. It lacks an optical drive and expandability of the device is a concern but I have to agree with the advertisement, there’s definitely something in the Air.
